Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2020 Oct 08 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. An area of possible spot emergence was detected at about S23E08, but we await USAF observatory confirmation. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Very low solar activity is expected 08-10 Oct.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was normal to high, with a peak flux of 3,240 pfu and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background values.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is likely to reach moderate to high levels 08-10 Oct and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were indicative of a weakening IMF, but slightly elevated solar wind speeds. Total IMF strength decreased from a peak of 11 nT early in the period to values less than 5 nT. The Bz component underwent primarily weak deviations. Solar wind speed increased from about 315 to just over 400 km/s, before it decreased to around 350 km/s. The phi angle was predominantly negative.

Forecast: A slow solar wind regime is anticipated 08-10 Oct.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet 08-10 Oct.
