Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. No sunspots or Earth-directed CMEs were observed.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to continue at very low levels on 04-06 Sep.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels this period with a peak flux of 14,200 pfu observed at 03/1620 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was steady at background levels throughout the period.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to reach high levels on 04-06 Sep and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels throughout the forecast period.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were near nominal levels over the period. Solar wind speed ranged from 410-456 km/s. Total field ranged from 2-5 nT while the Bz component was between +3/-4 nT. Phi angle was oriented in a positive solar sector before 04/0000 UTC and was variable thereafter.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to reflect near background conditions on 04-06 Sep with the return of a nominal solar wind regime.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be mostly quiet on 04-06 Sep.
