Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2018 Dec 09 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2729 (S05W88, Bxo/beta) produced a B2 flare at 09/0710 UTC as it continued to rotated off the solar disk. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to continue at very low levels on 09-11 Dec.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal to moderate levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background values.

Forecast: Moderate to high electron flux levels are expected on 09-11 Dec due to CH HSS effects. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels throughout the forecast period.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters, as measured by the DSCOVR spacecraft, continued to reflect influence of a positive polarity CH HSS. Total magnetic field strength ranged from 1-11 nT while the Bz component remained mostly positive throughout the reporting period. Solar wind speeds were mostly between 500-600 km/s. Phi angle was predominantly oriented in the negative sector.

Forecast: Enhanced solar wind conditions are expected to continue on 09-10 Dec due to persistent CH HSS influence. A return to nominal levels is expected on 11 Dec.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at quiet to unsettled levels on 09-10 Dec with isolated active periods likely on 09 Dec due to continued CH HSS effects. A return to mostly quiet conditions is expected on 11 Dec as CH HSS effects wane.
