Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2018 Jan 16 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Slight growth was observed in Region 2696 (S13E19, Cro/beta). No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available satellite imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels throughout the forecast period (16-18 Jan).

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached moderate levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux was steady at background levels.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at normal to moderate levels throughout the forecast period (16-18 Jan). The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels throughout the forecast period.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind speed continued to decline over the period from a positive polarity CH HSS. Solar wind speed decreased from 510 km/s to near 430 km/s. Total field was between 1-5 nT while the Bz component was between +4/-3 nT. Phi angle was oriented in a predominantly positive (away) sector with a few deviations into a negative (towards) sector between 15/1320-1420 and 15/2330-16/0200.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to be near nominal levels for the next three days (16-18 Jan).

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be mostly quiet for the next three days (16-18 Jan).
